A great-looking, new fact sheet is now available about pollution from coal tar pavement sealers in Maine. Just published this month, the information piece clearly spells out and references, not only the national research, but also what is being found in Maine. The production was jointly supported by the Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Long Creek Watershed Management District and the Interlocal Stormwater Working Group.
Later this week the Maine Legislature will decide the future of legislation to phase out this product (LD 1208).
